As part of the tradition, just about every entry in the parade had candy treats to toss to youngsters along the way. The kids scrambled to pick up the sugary delights they couldn't catch.
The Zoo 'n Around float featured a van-top display and pulled a float as well.
Even the Mr. Rooter van was decked out in Christmas lights with what appears to be a real live elf riding on the roof.
This spirited float featured young ladies singing Christmas carols.
The Fernley Rotary Club float featured a Christmas tree, lots of presents--that would later be distributed at the fire house--and lots of lights!
Here's my lovely better half, Jarda, and Cindy Lara following the Rotary Club float. It's a good thing she has heated seats in that car... Brrrrrrr!
What would a Christmas Parade be without Santa and Mrs. Claus making an appearance? They left the sleigh and reindeer parked at the North Pole and rode on a fire engine instead.
