Magician Wayne Ferguson provided the entertainment at Wednesday's Fernley Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon meeting. Lt. Albert Torres was recruited from the audience to assist Ferguson with one of his illusions.

Chamber President Kathy McKnight took part in Ferguson's floating table trick at the holiday Chamber luncheon Wednesday at the Fernley Community Center.

Outgoing Chamber President Kathy McKnight received a plaque from the Board of Directors recognizing her leadership and service in 2008. Chamber Treasurer Chris Entwistle made the presentation.

Municipal Court Judge Dan Bauer swears in members of the 2009 Fernley Youth City Council at Wednesday evening's regular City Council meeting. The YCC is involved in a number of community events during the year.

Following the swearing in ceremony, the new members of the Youth City Council posed with Fernley City Council. The YCC serves as a liaison to the City Council and involves young people ages 14-19.

Mayor Cutler (right) presented Civic Leader Awards to outgoing council members Joe Mortensen, Ward 2, and Elayne Logue, Ward 1. The awards recognized their service to the city.
